Gavin Davis FFF – Certified Casting Instructor & LOOP Pro Team

Whether it be wading a tropical flat, dredging the deep blue sea or twigging a mountain stream, Gavin will cast a fly at anything that swims. For him, fly fishing is both a passion and an obsession.

Raised in a family of eager fisherman, Gavin grew up fishing with lures and conventional tackle. At the age of 16 he cast his first fly rod and was immediately addicted. This fly fishing addiction has taken many forms; continually casting smoother longer loops, innovating fly patterns and most importantly catching fish wherever they may be.

During Gavin’s adventures in the waters of the North Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, he has landed over fifty species of fish on fly. Gavin has competed in numerous casting competitions. His accolades include winning both the Australian Five Weight Distance and Southern Cross Distance competitions.

In 2011 Gavin became a Certified Casting Instructor accredited through the International Federation of Fly Fishers. He is co-author of the fly fishing blog “Fly Junkies”; where he pursues journalism and photography.

Gavin brings a diverse range of skills and experiences to the Advanced Fly Fishing School. Coupled with his creativity and attention to detail, he offers a fresh and unique approach to teaching fly fishing.
